Boutique hotel designed by Jean Nouvel in 1989, inspired by traditional tobacco-drying lofts. Four metallic pavilions set on a hillside above Bordeaux offer panoramic views over the city and the Garonne valley. A Relais & Châteaux property.
Jean Nouvel's Hôtel Le Saint-James (1989) in Bouliac above Bordeaux reinterprets local tobacco barns: dark rusted-steel lattice screens clad simple gabled volumes that house the hotel and restaurant, set among vineyards with long views over the Garonne and the city.
