Mario Botta's red-brick cathedral at the Namyang Catholic pilgrimage site — twin brick towers built 2011–2023 on 'Rosary Hill', a martyrs' shrine consecrated in 1991.

Namyang in Hwaseong commemorates Catholic martyrs of the 1866 Byeongin persecution and was designated a holy site in 1991. Its new cathedral, designed by Swiss architect Mario Botta with HnSa Architects and built between 2011 and 2023, is a monumental red-brick church whose paired towers and top-lit nave anchor the pilgrimage landscape.
