A circular museum with no front or back, where galleries and free public spaces mix freely. Dissolves the boundary between inside and out.
SANAA's 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa (2004) is a circular glass building with no front or back, open on all sides to the surrounding park and city. Inside, galleries of different sizes and heights are scattered like boxes within the circle, separated by corridors and light courts, so visitors choose their own route; permanent works include Leandro Erlich's 'Swimming Pool'.
